Labor Day New Patient Specials Are Here!!!

Labor Day has arrived and we at Well Within would like to take a moment to recognize all the workers that have contributed to making this country we live in the greatest and most successful in the history of the world, without forgetting all of those out there doing the work to make sure it stays that way.

Celebrating a day like today with specials on our services is just one of many ways we're choosing to give back. Another is by highlighting a cause that's close to our heart, His Place Ministries, and inviting you to share what you have with a worthy organization.

His Place Ministries is a multi-faceted church and outreach ministry designed to reach out to the hurting and the wounded, from all walks of life. God's love and grace is extended, and life-changing alternative are made available to those seeking a new direction for their lives. His Place is a place where the wounded can come, receive God's love, forgiveness and healing, and learn to reach out to others with God's love, as "wounded healers."

His Place holds services on Sundays at 9:30 am, a weekly Bible study, and operates a soup kitchen, food pantry and clothes closet, a restoration house designed to treat and house those fighting alcohol/drug addiction and a cold night shelter.

Noel and Sonja have done a ton of work with His Place over the years and have helped touch the lives of so many people.

This September, we're asking that anyone looking to redeem one of the new patient specials, please bring in three non-perishable food items that will be donated to His Place to help stock the shelves of their food pantry.

That said, let's take a look at the Labor Day New Patient specials, which are redeemable through September 16th.

1) New Initial Visit ($60....normally $180)

An initial visit with Dr. Sonja and Noel, during which they will perform several tests to give them an idea of what kind of health you're in. The tests include Heart Rate Variability, Nutrition Reflex Testing, Acupressure Stress Elimination Assessment, Body Fat Analysis, and a complete medical history. Included in the NIV is a second appointment where they will provide you the results of your testing and let you know if you're a candidate for the health improvement programs they offer.

2) Acupressure Stress Elimination Assessment ($60....normally $120)

Acupressure Stress Elimination, also known as ASE is a way of cleaning up endocrine disruptors so the body's own hormones have the potential to work normally again. ASE doesn't use hormones or medications as treatment, but is a technique to tape into the endocrine system through neurological reflex points with the intention of bringing communication back into the system.

3) Microcurrent Point Stimulation Therapy Assessment ($60....normally $120)

Our newest service, MPS complements the traditional ASE technique and is the perfect therapy to treat chronic pain. MPS utilizes a device that locates and applies concentrated DC microcurrent to therapeutically active points (acupuncture and trigger) for the purpose of relaxing muscles, calming the nervous system and releasing endorphins, the body's natural painkillers. The device is engineered to detect and treat these active points with great scientific precision and potency, providing stimulation of all three systems at once - nervous, muscular and endocrine.

4) Essential Nutrients Checkup ($60....normally $120)

An Essential Nutrients Checkup is for those who are currently healthy, symptom-free and who want to know what they need to do to stay healthy and prevent issues down the road. The typical ENC includes a Clinical Nutrition Analysis, a check of basic nutrient, digestive and immune points, a report of findings and recommendations and a complimentary follow-up visit in 60 days.

Feel free to stop by, call or email if you have any questions regarding any of the specials or anything else.

MPS...Our Newest Service

Well Within is proud to offer a new service!

Microcurrent Point Stimulation Therapy: the perfect option for chronic pain sufferers, and a service so effective that complete or substantial relief from pain often occurs within 1-3 applications.

Per MPS Therapy Education, Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) Therapy is the world’s first integrative therapy developed exclusively to sympathetically DE-Regulate the ANS and fight chronic pain.

The MPS device locates and applies concentrated DC microcurrent to therapeutically active points (acupuncture & trigger) for the purpose of relaxing muscles, calming the nervous system and releasing endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers. The device is engineered to detect and treat these active points with great scientific precision & potency, providing stimulation of all three systems at once — nervous, muscular and endocrine.

MPS protocols are the ultimate in integrative pain protocols. The power of integrating all these healing techniques into one protocol means MPS can produce far superior outcomes over traditionally pain therapies (in a fraction of treatment time). MPS protocols are easy to adapt into any clinical setting or time frame.  No wonder the MPS Therapy is now the first choice for  treatment of chronic pain by over 40,000 therapists and hundreds of hospitals worldwide.

MPS has been a remarkable success in the fight against chronic pain. The results are so impressive using this approach that complete or substantial relief (60-85%+) from pain
often occurs within 1-3 applications.

Most patients require 2-10 treatments for lasting outcomes, with some chronic patients requiring ongoing daily or bi-weekly applications. MPS protocols may be quickly individualized to any patient’s needs and applied within 3-20 minutes. MPS Therapy is reported to be significantly more effective than many other therapies offered on the marketplace, often providing the only “breakthrough” many pain patients have ever experienced.

MPS can serve as an invaluable tool to all health professionals in their efforts to substantiate current treatment regime and as an invaluable pain tool for superior patient outcomes.

Well Within offers MPS therapy as a supplement to the traditional acupressure therapy. Stop by or email us to learn more!

The Natural Guide to Zika Prevention

There have been numerous cases of Zika transmitted in the state of Florida during the past month, and according to a new report published by Scientific American, U.S. health officials now fear that it will likely spread across the Gulf to Texas and Louisiana.

Louisiana is seen as a particularly likely target due to the record flooding that has struck the state this month. In addition to 13 deaths, the flooding has also destroyed close to 100,000 homes and likely caused upwards of $30 million in damage. With millions of gallons of standing water stalling any preventative efforts such as spraying, local officials are springing into action to avoid what could be the worst public health crisis in decades.

The nationwide Zika watch has done wonders for the bug spray industry, with nearly 50% of Americans purchasing some sort of repellent, according to a survey performed by RetailMeNot, but there doesn't seem to be much of a consensus when it comes to the best repellents on the market.

Furthermore, the ramp up in production of these sprays, creams, gels and bands, has potential customers questioning what methods are best at preventing bites from the mosquitoes that carry Zika.

As you'd expect, we recommend several all-natural solutions for mosquito prevention, including the following:

  • Lemon Eucalyptus Oil: a mixture of 32 percent lemon eucalyptus oil provides 95% protection against mosquito bites over the course of three hours, according to the CDC. It is, however, not recommended in use by children under the age of 3.

  • Lavender: the scent given off by lavender is a natural mosquito repellent. It is recommended to keep the plant indoors to prevent mosquitoes from entering the home, although the flowers can also be crushed and applied to areas of the body the wearer wants to protect from bites.

  • Garlic: garlic contains sulfur, which also acts as a natural repellent

  • Herbal Mosquito Repellent: a combination of witch hazel, citronella, eucalyptus and lemongrass oils, this repellent is a go-to in the swamps of Louisiana

  • Amrita Aromatherapy Bugs BeGone: an all-natural blend containing aloe vera, eucalyptus, lemongrass, peppermint and rosemary oils, this repellent is safe for babies, children and environmentally friendly. It can be purchased at Well Within, and is also available in a kids version and pets variant.

Furthermore, several steps should be taken to boost your immune system, in the off-chance that you are bitten by a mosquito:

  • Vitamin C: helps your body fight off foreign bodies such as viruses and bacteria
  • Zinc: your immune system can be weakened by adrenal fatigue, which can be combated by eating foods that are rich in zinc
  • Echinacea and Garlic: both boost your immune system and help fight adrenal fatigue

What is Monk Fruit...and What Can It Do For Me?

This past July marked the seven year anniversary of the FDA's decision to approve the use of monk fruit in food and beverages.

You may or may not have noticed, but the fruit, whose juice is extracted and dried into a sweetener has slowly, quietly worked it's way into our lives. You can even find it in some local grocery stores, and of course you'll always be able to pick some up here at Well Within.

But, what is this magical substance, commonly known as lo han guo? And what makes it so special?

Let's take a look.

Monk fruit sweetener is derived from a small round fruit that is grown mostly in Southeast Asia. Residents of China, Japan and Singapore have been using it for centuries as a digestive aid, but it's only in the past 15-20 years that it has been used to sweeten foods and beverages.

How sweet is it, you ask?

Try around 150-300 times sweeter than sugar.

The real kicker, however, is that it contains ZERO calories per serving. Contrast that with sugar itself (16 calories per/tsp) and other sugar substitutes, such as agave (20 per/tsp), honey (20 per/tsp) and xylitol (10 per/tsp).

Since it's a no-calorie sweetener, this makes it a perfect sweetener for diabetics, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and even children!

Patient Testimonial: Carlos the Softball Enthusiast

If you've checked out our testimonials page recently, you surely have noticed the picture of a handsome young(ish) softball player. His name is Carlos, and he's been coming to Well Within for a little less than six months.

Carlos, an avid softball player, came to us with a laundry-list of maladies: plantar fasciitis, multiple knee surgeries, a torn rotator cuff and rampant inflammation. On top of that, he was complaining of a lack of energy AND he was having trouble sleeping. Carlos's biggest complaint, however, was that the doctors he went to see for all of these issues never wanted to dig deep and figure out what was causing his aches and pains.

After his initial visit, Carlos committed 100% to the plan of action laid out by Dr. Sonja and Noel. This plan consisted of nutritional counseling, acupressure treatment and whole food supplements.

One by one, the ailments that had plagued Carlos in the past started to abate. The inflammation subsided. He started sleeping through the night. In this first month on the program, Carlos lost an astounding 13 pounds!

The most important thing, however, was the renewed energy he found. He's been able to increase the number of softball games and he's recently rediscovered his love for racquetball.

Three months out, Carlos had lost a total of 23 pounds. His body fat was down to 8% and his energy level is better than ever.

That renewed energy and increased mobility helped Carlos lead his team to victory in the Florida State Championship softball tournament just a few weeks ago.

Fortunately, Carlos's story is par for the course around here, assuming the patient follows the nutritional regimen and takes the recommended supplements.

For more information on Carlos's story, or if you're ready to start your own journey back to good health, give us a call, send us an email, or drop in anytime during business hours.
